My impression of Phoebe

By the way that Holden kept talking so highly of her the entire book I really expected Phoebe to be this amazing person, but honestly she reminds me of any normal sister. I think Holden thought that she was going to be a little more supportive of him than she was. He was probably thinking that she was going to take his side of the argument, but instead she was chewing him out and saying that dad was going to kill him for getting kicked out again. He said that she acts like a teacher sometimes an he's right, she didn't seem to be the most caring person. She was happy to see him, but after he told her about getting kicked out of school the happiness kind of disappeared. She would hardly talk to him, she would say her idea and then ignore him. I'm trying to figure out was Holden wrong about her? Or is she amazing just from his perspective?

  1. I think that he remembers most everyone not an adult as an over blown version of what they really are, and then when he meets them again winds up seeing them as a phoney...Someone like Sally.
